Woman of the Week – No. 3

This week I’m talking about Taylor Swift. I think Taylor is one of those people you either love or hate. While I’m not going to say I’m a massive fan, I must admit that since the release of her new album I’ve been keeping a close eye on her and in  my opinion she’s coming off in a really good light.

Let’s talk about her last two songs, both of which I love. Shake it Off and Blank Space are hitting back at all the people who have talked about Taylor and her love/ personal life over the course of the past few years. Instead of commenting about it publicly she has said what she needs to say through her music and I think she has done it really effectively.

Her Shake it Off video which you can see here shows her completely taking the piss out of herself. I love her carefree attitude, she’s in front of millions and continues to be herself. Props to her for this tune too, one of my faves at the minute.

When it comes to the fashion stakes I think she absolutely hits it out of the park.  When it comes to the red carpet she’s on a totally different level. I remember tweeting about this number when she wore it at the Grammy’s earlier this year and I still love it.

Just last night she performed at the Victoria’s Secrets fashion show and in this photo she doesn’t look a bit out of place surrounded by supermodels!

For a lady of the young tender age of 24, she isn’t doing too badly. I’m sure by the time I hit 24 I’ll have her wealth, talent and killer body! I’m really looking forward to seeing where Taylor Swift goes from here. I never classed myself as a fan but now that I’m writing this post I’m wondering is she planning to tour here in Ireland? Just crossed over the line to FAN. And I’m not one bit sorry, love her look, music and attitude and that’s why she’s this week’s woman of the week!

Until next time,

Deep Freeze Fashion

That is a cold one out there today ladies! With this set to continue and many saying we’re in for a cool winter, I’ve taken a look at some staple faces that will keep us toasty while still looking good.

The Coat

Luckily there are so many amazing coats in the shops this season, we are spoilt for choice. Whether it’s a fur number, or something smart for the office, invest in a coat and you’ll wear it all season. I think River island have been leaders in the coat department this season and I love this khakia and leather one fro River Island for casual wear. I also love this Houndstooth one from Vila who also have an impressive range of coats this season.

The hat can be difficult to pull of but what about these Pinterest beauties. Even a headband can add something to your outfit. Fur is everywhere at the minute and I’m loving this look on Cara Delevigne which can totally dress up your outfit. The fur hat is from River Island and while it may be harder to pull of than the headband I think it could look really cool.

Now I’m not saying you have to get a scarf that’s on Lenny Kravits level, but I do think everyone needs a good winter scarf…or 5. Zara have the most amazing big chunky scarfs which will have you feeling cosy and fashionable. Buying something in a neutral colour means you can wear it with any outfit, here are a few of my fave pics and lets not forget about Penneys, they always have affordable super stylish scarves 🙂 This cowl style scarf is gorgeous.

So to sum it all up, looking cozy is key, fur can glam up any outfit you have and investing in a coat you love will mean never being stuck in the cold in something that doesn’t keep you warm.

Hope this helps during the cold snap.

Until next time,

Cape Central

Women have gone crazy for the cape trend and I am among them!! Instagram has made us all jealous of those who can afford the amazing personalised Burberry capes pictured below. My favourites Olivia P and Cara Delevigne are just some of the celebs who’ve been spotted out and about in them.

Luckily there are high street options. I’ve invested in this one from Miss Selfridge. You can’t see it really clearly here but the colours are actually really warm as you can see in the swatch and it’s perfect with jeans and boots for our current winter weather.

VIP Style Awards 2014

Ireland is producing some stunner models these days and they were out in force at last weekends VIP Style awards. Model Holly Carpenter posted this photo to her Instagram account today. What a bunch of hotties!

I loved Rozanna Purcell’ striking blue suit and herself and Holly look flawless in another Instagram snap. Eyebrows ❤

Thalia Heffernan also looked gorgeous in this black dress with a plunging neckline. At 19 her career is taking off and I think she’s going to be the next big thing.

Rosanna Davison won most stylish lady and best dressed on the night stepping out in this pink gown. While I love the colour I’m not mad on the skirt at all but she looks stunning as per usual.

Do you agree with Rosanna taking the prize? Let me know who your favourites were?

Coachella 2015 anyone?

Coachella has been in full swing all weekend and I’ve enjoyed reading about all the acts and looking at the fashion. Festival season is fast approaching and here’s some style inspiration if you’re heading to any of the great festivals lined up this summer.

I must admit that I have never got emotionally involved with the Kardashians/Jenners like many people I know have. But Kendall and Kylie Jenner have been photographed so many times over the weekend looking fabulous they have to be shown here… Excuse my ignorance but I knew nothing about them so did a bit of research and I realise that Kylie is in fact only 16! The picture below shows her on the left… At 16 I don’t know what I was doing but the fact she looks like this at that age is ridiculous! Festival fashion down to a tee!

Selena Gomez pictured beside her is wearing my favourite outfit I’ve seen of the weekend. Anyone who knows me knows I love anything knitted or crocheted and this is right up my ally. If I could pull it off like her I’d be a content lady! The addition of the hat, boots and glasses sound like it should all be too much but I think she pulls it off!

Fans were given a treat when Beyonce joined sister Solange on stage and they were seen busting out some moves on stage…I might have fainted if I had been there and she appeared…she’s my number one woman and I feel like she’s due a blog post all to herself soon so watch this space 😉 they look great in florals and bright orange…

One of my faves Ellie Goulding performed at the festival…Check out her performance of I Need You Love by clicking on the link. Love her energy on stage and the crowd looks amazing.

The whole weekend looked amazing…roll on the festival season.

Anyone for Coachella 2015??
