Who doesn’t love some wedding dress inspo and i had to share this when I saw it…it’s absolutely gorgeous, Love everything about it.
From the hair to the slight train it’s perfect.
Have I mentioned I love it?? š
Social Media is everywhereā¦Iām a self-confessed addict. Facebook, Twitter, Instagramā¦ Iām on them all and use them regularly. Itās only this year in college that Iāve heard this phrase ādigital footprintā and the amount of data thatās stored somewhere up there in the cloud due to my activity online. The more I think about it the more dizzying it becomes. Everything from emails to online transactions, an Instagram picture to a random tweet on Twitter the list could go on of how many places my data is stored online! Even this year Facebook is one of my main ways to keep in contact about assignments so there is no escaping it.
While doing research for this post I came across an article about how to erase your digital footprintā¦is it even possible to do this?? At this stage for me I think notā¦my size 6ās will probably be forever stomping around online as Iād have to completely cut myself off from the internet to even attempt to do this and I donāt see that happening. And here I am writing a blog which is definitely going against trying to disappear off the internet! As a matter of interest I Googled āJen Whyteā and my Twitter feed along with some other Jen Whyteās appeared on the search as well as my Facebook profile picture being the 4th image foundā¦ I found it a little weird as itās so prominent. People go on about SEO and how difficult it is sometimes to make that first page on Google but there I am and I have no interest in being there.
When it comes down to the long and the short of it social media is here to stay and if Iām honest Iām still going to regularly use it. The Snapchat phenomenon that is in full swing is a bandwagon I jumped offā¦ While I enjoyed it while I was there I found my level of addiction was getting a bit out of hand receiving 30+ snaps some days and probably sending about the same! People havenāt been shy to ask me why I left it and not many people understand it but I had my reasons, one of them being the distraction of your phone hopping off the table with selfies every 10 minutes and the other was the way people who I had rarely interacted with when not on Snapchat became people that I was in contact with very regularly. I sent snaps to people regarding my what I can only describe as sometimes boring day and Iām sure people had no interest in it what so ever. I received a lot of those pictures as well where I thought wow that was pointless. Donāt get me wrong there were some that made me laugh out loud but it became a thing of having conversations with people on it. All of a sudden you had to think of which grammatical error to commit in order for your message to fit across the screen. It all got too much for me and I feel like Iāve gained some of my privacy back since deactivating my account. People no longer know where I am all the timeā¦you can say well why did you send them those pointless pictures but when itās there you use it and my social media addiction definitely got stronger when Snapchat was on my phoneā¦ Will I be back?? Probablyā¦ but for the minute I like the distance and donāt miss it like I thought I would.Ā Still at least itās cutting down on that digital footprintā¦my sabbatical from Snapchat means the stomping may be somewhat quieter!
Shout out to Bridie Reilly with the title inspo…big fan of social media since the bebo stunnah phase and isĀ still to this day playing an active stunnah role in society. Killing it in the picture below.
2014 seems to be the year of Emma Watson with men and women alike drooling over her effortless beauty! She has come a long wayĀ from her fuzzy headed Hermione days and any time she’s photographed she looks flawless. It’s only April but so far this year Emma has been a leader in the style stakes and I’ve loved all her looks.
First up this red Christian Dior dress at the Golden Globes. You probably either love or hate this but I love it and think she pulls it off so well. Quirky yet classy.
She stepped out at the Oscars in this fabĀ metallic number. And just look at that bone structure in the close up. Gorgeous.
These next two looks show just how versatile she is from elegant and girly in white to rocking the androgynous look in an all black tailored suit. She looks amazing in both.
She’s not wearing anything in the last one but she’s amazing looking so I’m throwing it in for good measure! Can’t wait to see what she wears next š
Summer is on its way and I cannot wait. I love dressing for the summer weather and during a sneaky shopping trip on Monday morning on the way to college I was delighted to see that the shops are jam packed full of bright and colourful clothes! So here’s a round up of some of this seasons trends and I’m also including some stuff that caught my eye in River Island and Zara…
The first things I clocked eyes on walking in to River Island were these gorgeous shorts. They’re high waisted so they’re really flattering and the colour is gorgeous. I very nearly bought these and they’re currently on my long wish list…I might still invest!
Usually I buy a pair of wedges at the beginning of summer that I wear to the death. They are so handy and go with everything, this year however it’s all about the strappy sandal and this pair from ALDO with a pop of colour are gorgeous.
I’ve a feeling there’s going to be a shift from the typical peplum style we’ve seen and loved for the past few years to the peplum hem skirt. There’s a few on asos including this one which I love and teamed with a satin capped sleeve cream top I think it’d be super cute and bang on trend.Ā Watch this space because I think they’re going to be everywhere in the next while.
The jumpsuit is here to stay…I’m beyond poor but when I spied a fabulous white backless Zara jumpsuit I couldn’t leave it behind. I tried it on and I was sold. The picture on the website doesn’t do it justice but it’s backless and white and I’m in love ā¤ Every wardrobe should have a jumpsuit or playsuit this summer they’re so easy to wear and cut out the hassle of matching tops and bottoms…WIN WIN!
So there you have it, a few wardrobe staples for this summer…bright, airy, floral anything goes!
Over the past 48 hours Facebook has been inundated with selfies from bare faced ladies. Am I going to jump on the band wagon? Yes I am with my ā¬4 donation for a great cause. Figures rolling in today claim that there has been ā¬200,000 donated which is amazing. Yes there has been criticism but I think the figures speak for themselves in proving that the #nomakeupselfie is a positive trend! So get donating girls by texting Pink to 50300 and upload those selfies š

So it’s St Patricks weekend and the globe has gone green. Check out the picture below of the landmarks around the world dyed green this weekend in honour of the man himself! So with that in mind I’ve had a look and come up with a few ideas of how to inject some green in to your wardrobe and keep up with the festivities!
First up this gorgeous green dress from ASOS.
An absolute show stopper and perfect for spring and summer š LOVE ā¤
A girl can never have too many handbags and this is a more subtle option from River Island. This mint green number is the perfect arm candy!
Kaftans were everywhere last season and it looks like they’re here to stay. Perfect with a white t shirt and skinny jeans this is a great casual look.
Enjoy whatever you get up to this weekend,
LƔ FhƩile Padraig!

So here I am writing my first blog entry, who would have thought?! I always thought blog writing was way out of my depth, what would I write about? And who would actually read it?! But when the idea was planted in my head I thought of some of the things I could write about and hey, Iām going to give it a shotā¦
So who am I? Iām a busy Business Masters student in DCU with my eyes on the prize in September when I can finally resurface from the pile of books and assignments Iām currently buried under. Iām an outgoing person with a passion for fashion and you could say Iām fond of a night out on the tiles š
Girl Meets Blog will consist of all things girly and itās going to be full of fashion and style inspiration! I also hope to give a humorous (I hope) insight as to what itās like to be a 20 something Irish girl living in todayās modern Irish society!!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more
